November 12, 2025

Are you a budding writing based in the King’s Lynn area? I’m very excited to announce that the Write Your Book course is launching in November at The Workshop, King’s Lynn in Vancouver Quarter.

The course will start on Wed 12 November 2025 and run on a weekly basis from 10 am to 12 noon. To find out more or sign up, contact me at piperterrett@gmail.com

The course covers every aspect of how to write a book – whether a non-fiction title or novel. It includes lessons on how to plan your novel or non-fiction book, write and edit it and prepare it for publication, as well as practical exercises and feedback on your writing. The current course running in Shouldham has also featured mini field trips to local author talks and online talks and Q&A sessions with fiction and non-fiction authors to provide our students with practical, up-to-date advice on writing and producing their book. And we also plan to incorporate these in the King’s Lynn course where possible.

A former Financial Times Group journalist, I have an English degree from Newnham College, Cambridge, where I was lucky enough to study Shakespeare with Professor Germaine. Greer. I am also the author of three books – two non-fiction titles (Bedroom DJ: a Beginner’s Guide, The Frugal Life: How to spend less and live more) and a crime novel Victim Support – and have also written for MSN.co.uk, MoneyWeek, Mirror Online and Yahoo!, among many other outlets. Most recently, I was acting Director of Communications at Newnham College, Cambridge.
